TPB (2015 Marvel)
Secret Wars: Warzone

Of all the Battleworlds out there, this one is the most intriguing and fun.

Welcome to Timely, a boom town in the desert southwest of the United States in 1872.

The coolest thing about this book is how Marvel characters are depicted.

The good guys are led by Sheriff Steve Rogers (Captain America), Tony Stark (Iron Man), and Bruce Banner (The Hulk).

The bad guys are led by Wilson Fisk (Kingpin), Bullseye, and Doc Ock (Doctor Octopus).

It is interesting how story lines intersect.

For example, Bucky Barnes dies in this reality, too, having been a deputy of Rogers' at one point.

And Tony Stark adds a huge amount of steampunk to the tale.

Sometimes it is shocking who dies in this book.

Included is a reprint of "Avengers" #80 in which we are introduced to Red Wolf, the main character in the "1872" book. He is looking to remove a dam that has caused his people to suffer drought.

In the middle of the conflict are women demanding equal rights who prove they are up to the task men face as well.

Also, there is a hint of another modern superhero with an Old West backstory.

"1872" is a good read and leaves the reader wanting more.
