Gotham Central (2003) DC

Gotham's finest get their own title!

The storyline, expertly co-written by Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka, takes place after the "No Man's Land" story arc.

It's interesting to watch a cop drama unfold in a comic book.

Also, it's kind of strange reading about Gotham with little to no Batman. His presence does, however, loom large as the police take on one of the Batman's super villains.
